The World’s “Nobodies” are God’s “Some-bodies”
-
Simeon
– (Luke 2:25-35) “It was revealed unto Simeon by the Holy
Ghost that he should not see death, before he had seen the
Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: He
took Jesus up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now
lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
for mine eyes have seen thy salvation.”
-
Anna
– (Luke 2:36) “Anna departed not from the temple…And she coming
in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of
Him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”
-
Andrew
– (Matthew 4:18) “Simon Peter’s brother”
-
Lad
– (John 6:8-9) “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto Jesus,
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves and two small
fishes: but what are they among so many?…5,000 fed with 12
baskets left over!”
-
Woman with
issue of blood – (Matthew 9:20) “She said within
herself, If I may but touch the hem of his garment, I shall be
whole…Thy faith hath made thee well.”
-
Woman with
alabaster box – (Matthew 26:6-13) “Woman poured very
precious ointment on Jesus’ head, as he sat at meat. Jesus said
she hath wrought a good work upon me for in that she hath poured
this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say
unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole
world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told
for a memorial of her.”
-
Simon of
Cyrene – (Matthew 27:32) “Compelled to bear Jesus’
cross.”
-
Ananias
– (Acts 9:10-19) “The Lord in a vision said unto Ananias, Arise
and go thy way: for Saul is a chosen vessel unto me. Ananias
went his way and entered into the house; and putting his hands
on Saul said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus hath sent me
that thou mightest receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy
Ghost. And immediately there fell form his eyes as it had been
scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was
baptized.”
-
Dorcas
– (Acts 9:36-43) “Full of good works and alms deeds which she
did…Widows shewing the coats and garments which she made to
Peter…Dorcas raised from the dead and was presented alive. And
it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the
Lord.”
