IMPERATIVE OF KNOWING JESUS

Know= Greek ginosko meaning to know experientially

                        oida meaning absolute knowledge, beyond a doubt

                        epiginosko meaning to know about or recognize

1.      Matthew 7:20-23 “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know(epiginosko) them.  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?  and in they name have cast out demons? And in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew(ginosko) you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

2.      John 1:10 “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew(gniosko) him not.”

3.      John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”(ginosko)

4.      John 14:7-9 “If ye had known(ginosko) me, ye should have known(ginosko) my Father also: and from henceforth ye know(ginosko) him, and have seen him.  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known(ginosko) me, Philip?  He that hath seen me hath seen the Father;””

5.      John 14:20 “And at that day ye shall know(ginosko) that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

6.      John 17:25 “O righteous Father, the world hath not known(ginosko) thee: but I have known(ginosko) thee, and these have known (ginosko) that thou hast sent me.”(ginosko=to know)

7.      Philippians 3:10 “That I may know(ginosko)him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”

8.      II Timothy 1:12 “For I know(oida) whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”

9.      II Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth(ginosko) them that are his.”

10.  Hebrews 8:11 “And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man is brother, saying, Know(ginosko) the Lord: for all shall know(oida) me, from the least to the greatest.”

11.  I John 2:3, 5, 13-14 “And hereby we know(ginosko) that we know(ginosko) him, if we keep his commandments.  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know(ginsoko) we that we are in him.  I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known(ginosko) him that is from the beginning.  I write unto you, little children, because ye have known(ginosko) the Father.”

12.  I John 4:7, 13, 16 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth(ginosko)God.  Hereby know(ginosko) we that we dwell in him, and he is us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.  And we have known(ginosko) and believed the love that God hath to us.  God is love; and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

13.  1 John 5:13, 18-20 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know(oida) that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  We know(oida) that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.  And we know(oida) that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.  And we know(oida)) that the son of God is come and hath given us an understanding, that we may know(ginosko) him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ.  This is the true God, and eternal life.”
