HOW DO WE HEAR GOD?

HEBREW: shamea=to hear

                        shema=to hear

                        gashab=to give attention, be attentive

                        azan=to give ear

GREEK:            akouo=to give ear, hearken, hear

                        diakouo=to hear thoroughly

                        eisakouo=to give ear to, hearken to

                        epakroaomai=to hearken unto

WAYS ONE CAN HEAR GOD:

1.      Through the Scripture

2.      Through the Holy Spirit

3.      Through prayer

4.      Through other believers in the Body of Christ: prophecy, teaching, exhortation, tongues & interpretation

5.      Through other gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, knowledge & discernment

6.      Through visions

7.      Through dreams

8.      Through revelations

9.      Through angels

10.  Through the witness within your spirit

11.  Through being silent

12.  Through waiting upon the Lord

13.  Through “still, small voice”

14.  Through an inner voice

15.  Through strong impressions

16.  Through premonition

17.  Through fleeting thoughts

18.  Through circumstances and events

19.  Through “open” and “closed” doors

20.  Through creation(donkey, rocks, etc.)

Note: A safe guard to distinguish God’s voice, our thoughts & Satan’s?  If it goes against the flesh it’s probably God’s voice and if it pleases the flesh it’s probably our thoughts or Satan’s.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear!”
