GOD’S TIMING

1.   Noah(Genesis 5:29-31; 6:8-22; 7:1-9:29)

a.   God called Noah when he was 500 years old.(Genesis 5:32;6:10)

b.   God brought the flood when Noah was 600 years old.(Genesis 7:11)

c.    Noah, for 100 years faithfully built the ark and preached with only eight souls saved.(I Peter 3:20; II Peter 2:5)

2.  Abraham(Genesis 11:26-12:8)

a.   God called Abraham when he was 75 years old.(Genesis 12:1-4)

b.   God gave Abraham a son when he was 100 years old.(Genesis 17:17; 21:5) and Sarah was 90 years old.(Genesis 17:17)

3.   Moses

a.   Moses killed the Egyptian when he was 40 years old.(Exodus 2:11-15; Acts 7:23)

b.   Moses served as a shepherd in Midian for 40 years.(Exodus 2:15-4:31; Acts 7:30)

c.    God called Moses from the burning bush when he was 80 years old. (Exodus 3:1-6)

d.   Moses was 120 years old when he died.(Genesis 34:7)

4.   Joseph

a.   Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him into slavery(Genesis 37:2)

b.   Joseph died at age of 110.(Genesis 50:22,26)

4.  Jesus

a.   Childhood to 12 years of age(Luke 2:42-52)

b.   Manhood from 12 to 30 years of age(Luke 2:51-52; 3:23)

c.    Jesus’ brothers told him to show himself to the world at 30 years of age but Jesus’ time had not come.(John 7:3-8)

d.   Jesus did not go to Jerusalem to be crucified until 3 years later when he was 33 years old. (John 17:1)

e.    Lazarus was sick but Jesus delayed six days in going to Bethany to raise him from the dead.( John 11:1-45

6.   12 Apostles

a.   They were called to be apostles when Jesus was 30 years old but remained as disciples(learners) for approximately 3 years before officially ministering as apostles.(Luke 6:13-16; Acts 2:1f)

7.   Paul

a.   He was saved when he was approximately 30 years old.(Acts 8:1)

b.   He was not “sent out” by the Holy Spirit until approximately 12 years later.

1)   Preached in Damascus.(Acts 9:19-20)

2)   Went to Arabia.(Galatians 1:17)

3)   Returned to Damascus.(Galatians 1:17)

4)   Visited Jerusalem for fifteen days.(Galatians 1:18)

5)   Is suspected by the Jerusalem believers.(Acts 9:26)

6)   Is befriended by Barnabas in Jerusalem.(Acts 9:27)

7)   Jews persecuted him.(Acts 9:29)

8)   A vision commanded his departure from Jerusalem.(Acts 22:17-18)

9)   Went to Tarsus.(Acts 9:30)

10) Barnabas brought him to Antioch.(Acts 11:25-26)

11) Experienced church life as a prophet and teacher in Antioch.(Acts 11:26)

         12) Sent out by the Holy Spirit.(Acts 13:1-4)
