THREE DAYS JESUS WAS IN THE GRAVE

1.      Matthew 27:52-53 “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

2.      Acts 2:27, 31 “And David speaking concerning him: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilth thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.  He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.”

3.      I Corinthians 15:20, 23 “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.”

4.      Ephesians 4:8-10 “Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all thing.)

5.      Philippians 2:10 “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things, I heaven, and thing in earth, and things under the earth;”

6.      Colossians 1:13God hath delivered us from the power of darkness.”

7.      Colossians 2:15 “Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly triumphing over them in it(cross).”

8.      Hebrews 2:14 “That through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”

9.      I Peter 3:18-20 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirit in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”

10.  I John 3:8 “He that committeth sins is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.  For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

11.  Revelation 1:18 “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death.”
