TEMPLE/SYNOGOGUE

TEMPLE:

1.   Matthew 21:12-13 “Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out

all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables

of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, and

said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of

prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”

2.   Matthew 24:1-2 “Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and

his disciples came ot him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things?  Verily I say

unto yoiu, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that

     shall not be thrown down.”

3.   John 4:20-24 “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say,

that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.  Jesus

saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall

neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for

salvation is of the Jews.  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the

true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for

the Father seeketh such to worship him.  God is a spirit: and they

that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

4.   Matthew 27:50-51 “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice,

yielded up the ghost.  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in

twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the

     rocks rent.

5.   Acts 7:47-51 “But Solomon built him an house.  Howbeit the most

High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye

build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?  Hath not

my hand made all these things?  Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in

heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers

     did, so do ye.”

6.   I Corinthians 3:16-17 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,

and that the Spirit of god dwelleth in you?  If any man defile the

temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy,

     which temple ye are.”

7.   I Corinthians 6:19 “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple

of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are

     not your own?”

8.   II Corinthians 6:16 “And what agreement hath the temple of God

with idols?  For ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath

said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God,

and they shall be my people.  Wherefore come out from among them,

and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing:

and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be

my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

9.   Acts 2:46; 3:11; 5:12 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in

the temple, and breaking bread from house to house.  And as the

lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran

together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly

wondering.  And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and

wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one

     accord in Solomon’s porch.”
