SEEING THROUGH THE EYES OF FAITH

INTRODUCTION

John 5:19 “The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do: For what things so ever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”

MAIN BODY

1. Hebrews 11:l “Faith is substance and evidence of things hoped for and not seen.” Abraham(Genesis 22:1-14)The servants saw sacrificial death but Abraham saw God’s supernatural provision!         

2. Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please God” Caleb(Exodus13;30-33)The people of Israel saw giants but Caleb saw grasshoppers!

3.  Romans 14:23 “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” Joshua(Joshua 6:1-27)The army saw an insurmountable wall but Joshua saw the wall falling down!

4. Galatians 2:20 “I live by the faith of the Son of God.”Elisah(II Kings 6:12-17)The prophet’s servant saw the enemy encamped about but the Elisah saw angels and chariots of fire!

5. II Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”Isaiah(Isaiah 6:1-13)The people saw King Uzziah’s  untimely death but Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up!

6. I John 5:4 “Faith over cometh the world.” King Nebuchadnezzare & Three Hebrew Children(Daniel 3:1-30) The Kings men saw a consuming fire but the king saw the fourth man like unto the Son of God!

7. Romans 10:17 “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Lazarus(John 11:1-45)saw Lazarus dying but Jesus saw Lazarus resurrected!

8. Luke 17:5 “Lord, increase our faith.” Peter & John(Acts 3:1-26)People saw a cripple by the gate but Peter and John saw a man healed leaping and praising God!

9. Galatians 3:11 “The just shall live by faith.” Paul(Acts 27:21-25)The ship crew saw the storm but Paul saw an angel!

CONCLUSION

Stephen’s accusers saw him dying by stoning but Stephen saw Jesus standing at the Father’s right hand!

King Herod saw James killed on earth by a sword but James saw a martyrs crown in heaven!

Romans 4:20-21 “Men of faith staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but were strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what God had promised, he was able also to perform.”

Revelation 3:18 “Anoint our eyes with eye salve, that we may see!”

NOTE: Faith is knowing that what God has said, He will do!  Faith is the full assurance and confidence in God’s ability to accomplish His purpose and to fulfill His promises!
