RESURRECTON

Greek: anastasis meaning a standing or rising up

1.      Matthew 22:23-32 “Jesus: Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the (Mark 12:18-26) power of God.  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.  But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?  God is not the God of the dead but of the living.”

2.      Luke 14:14 “For thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.”

3.      Luke 20:27-38 “Jesus: The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection form the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage.  Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.  Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.  For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.”

4.      John 5:21-29 “For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.  For the Father had committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father.  He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father which had sent him.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passed form death unto life.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the son to have life in himself;  And hath give him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice.  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

5.      John 11:24-27 “Martha saith unto him, I know that he(Lazarus)shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?  She saith unto him , Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.”

6.      Acts 4:2 “They taught the people and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.”

7.      Acts 23:6 “Paul: The hope and resurrection of the dead.”

8.      Acts 24:15 “Paul: There shall e a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.”

9.      Romans 6:5, 8 “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. For if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:”

10.  I Corinthians 15:12-26 “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  But every man in his own order: Christ the first  fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

11.  I Corinthians 15:42-58 “So also is the resurrection of the dead.  It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:  It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.  As we have born the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.  Behold, I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.  In the moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

12.  Philippians 3:10-11 “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death: If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”

13.  II Timothy 2:18 “Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.”

14.  Hebrews 6:2 “Doctrine of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”

15.  Hebrews 11:35 “Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:’

16.  Revelation 20:4-6 “And they beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  But the rest of the dead lived not again unto the thousand years were finished.  This is the first resurrection.” Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of god and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

17.  Revelation 20:12-15 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those  things which were written in the books, according to their works.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
