3.     Matthew 10:28; Luke 12:5 “Fear Him which is able to destroy (apollu = to lose off or away) both soul and body in hell (geenna).”

 

4.     Matthew 11:23; Luke 10:15) “And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell (hades).”

 

5.     Matthew 13:41-42 “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; the angels shall cast them into a furnace of fire (kaminos = furnace; pur = fire): there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

 

6.     Matthew 16:18 “Upon this rock I will build my church: and the gates of hell (hades) shall prevail against it.”

 

7.     Matthew 18:9 “Rather than having two eyes to be case into hell fire(geena pur).”

 

8.     Matthew 23:15, 33 “Ye make him twofold more the child of hell (geenna) than yourselves.  Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation (krisis = judgment) of hell (geenna)?”

 

9.     Matthew 25:41, 46 “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting (aionios = perpetual) fire (pur), prepared for the devil and his angels: And these shall go away into everlasting (aionios = perpetual) punishment (kolasis = torment):”

 

10. Luke 13:3 “I (Jesus) tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (apollumi = to destroy fully, die).”

 

11. Luke 16:22-23 “And the rich man died, and was buried; And in hell (hades) he lifted up his eyes, being in torments (odunaomai = to be pained), and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented (odunaomai = to be pained) in this flame (phlox = flame of fire).”

 

12. John 3:14-15 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish (apollumi  = to destroy fully, die), but have eternal life.”

 

13. John 3:16 “For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish (apollumi = to destroy fully, die), but have everlasting life.”

 

14. John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned (krino =judged, sentenced, condemned, punished): but he that believeth not is condemned (krino = same as above) already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Acts 2:27, 31 “Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell (hades), neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption (diaphtora = thorough corruption, decay).  He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell (hades), neither His flesh did see corruption (diaphtora = same as above).”

 

 

16. Romans 5:8-9 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath (orge = punishment, vengeance, wrath) through him.”

I Corinthians 15:26, 54-57 “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (thanatos).  Death (thanatos) is swallowed up in victory.  O death (thanatos), where is thy sting?  O grave (hades), where is thy victory?  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

II Thessalonians 1:7-9 “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with this mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance (ekdikesis = vindication, punishment) on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished (tino = pay a price as a penalty) with everlasting (aionios = perpetual) destruction (olethros = to destroy, ruin, death) from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”

 

19. James 3:6 “The tongue is set on fire of hell (pur geenna).”

 

20. Jude 7Suffering (hupecho = to endure suffering) the vengeance (dike = just punishment) of eternal (aionios = perpetual) fire (pur).”

 

21. Revelation 1:18 “I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and I have the keys of hell (hades)and death (thanatos).”

 

22. Revelation 6:8 “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death (thanatos), and Hell (hades) followed with him.”

Revelation 14:10-11 “He shall be tormented (basanizo = pain, torture) with fire (pur) and brimstone (theion = burning sulphur) (theion = Divine fire or sulphur) in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:  And the smoke (kapnos = smoke) of their torment (basanizo = to try, test, torment) ascendeth up for ever and ever (eis = perpetuity): and they have no rest  (anapausis = no intermission, rest) day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”

 

24. Revelation 20:15 “Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (limne = lake; pur = fire).”

 

25. Revelation 20:14, 15 “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death (thanatos) and hell (hades) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  And death (thanatos) and hell (hades) were cast into the lake (limne = lake) of fire (pur = fire).  This is the second death (deuteros = second; thanatos = death).  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (limne = lake; pur = fire).”
