4.     Matthew 11:23; Luke 10:15) “And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell (hades).”

5.     Matthew 13:41-42 “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; the angels shall cast them into a furnace of fire (kaminos = furnace; pur = fire): there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

6.     Matthew 16:18 “Upon this rock I will build my church: and the gates of hell (hades) shall prevail against it.”

Luke 16:22-23 “And the rich man died, and was buried; And in hell (hades) he lifted up his eyes, being in torments (odunaomai = to be pained), and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented (odunaomai = to be pained) in this flame (phlox = flame of fire).”

24. Revelation 20:15 “Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (limne = lake; pur = fire).”

25. Revelation 20:14, 15 “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death (thanatos) and hell (hades) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  And death (thanatos) and hell (hades) were cast into the lake (limne = lake) of fire (pur = fire).  This is the second death (deuteros = second; thanatos = death).  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (limne = lake; pur = fire).”
