ETERNAL/EVERLASTING

Greek: aidios = perpetual as in Romans1:20 “Even His eternal power and

       God head.”

               aion= age as in I Timothy 1:17 “Unto the King eternal, immortal,

    invisible.”

               aionios = age lasting as in:

1.   Matthew 18:8 “Cast into everlasting fire.”

2.   Matthew 19:29 “Shall inherit everlasting life.”

3.   Matthew 25:46a “Into everlasting punishment.”

4.   Matthew 25:46 “But the righteous to eternal life.”

4. Mark 3:29 “But is in danger of eternal

    damnation.” 

5. John 3:15 “Should not perish, but have

                                      eternal life.”

6.   John 3:16 “Have everlasting life.”

7.   II Timothy 1:9 “Punished with everlasting destruction.”

8.   Jude 7 Suffering the vengeance of eternal

    fire.”

9.  Jude 21 “The mercy of our Lord unto eternal

     life.”

 

Hebrew: age = dor meaning revolution as in Job 8:8 “Inquire, I pray thee, of

            the former age.”

                            zoqen meaning old age as in Genesis 48:10 “The eyes of Israel

                were dim for age.”

                             cheled meaning lifetime as in Psalm 39:5 “Mine age is as

                 nothing before thee.”  

                             yom meaning day as in Genesis 24:1 “Abraham was well

             stricken in age.”

                             ben meaning a son as in Genesis 47:28 “The age of Jacob, was

  an hundred forty.”

                             kelach meaning full age as in Job 32:2 “Job in whom old age

                                           was perished?”

 

Greek: age = helikia meaning maturity as in Hebrews 11:11 “Delivered of a

     child when  she was past age.”

   teleios meaning complete, perfect as in Hebrews 5:14 “Strong

    meat to them that are of full age.”

                          echei meaning maturity as in John 9:23 “Therefore said his

 parents, He is of age.”

                          presbutes meaning advanced in days as in Titus 2:2Aged men

         be sober in faith, in charity.”

Greek: ages = aion meaning age; dispensation; literally means the ages that

  just come in one upon another, that just roll in one upon

  another; an eternity of ages as in Ephesians 2:7

  “That in the ages to come.” Colossians 1:26 “Mystery

  which hath been hid from ages.”

                         genia meaning generations as in Ephesians 3:5 “Which in other

    ages was not make known.”  Ephesians 3:21

    “Throughout all ages, world without end.”
