DISCIPLE


 

Greek: mathano meaning to learn, to be appraised of, to increase one’s knowledge; mathetes meaning a learner, a pupil, one who follows the teaching of someone else, taught or trained one, disciplined one.


 

  1. Matthew 5:1f “And seeing the multitudes, Jesus went up into a mountain; and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying…”

  1. Matthew 8:19-21 “And a certain scribe came, and said unto Jesus, Master(didaskalos=teacher), I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
