Old Testament

1.   Genesis 2:13 “And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done?  And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.”

2.   Genesis 27:11-12 “My(Jacob)father(Isaac)said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man: My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.”

3.   Genesis 31:7 “And your(Rachel & Leah)father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.”

4.   Genesis 34:13 “And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:”

5.   Exodus 8:29 “And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.”

67. Zephaniah 1:9 “In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their master’s houses with violence and deceit.”

New Testament

1.   Matthew 13:22(Mark 4:19) “He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”

2.   Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 24(Mark 13:5-6; Luke 21:8) “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many…And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many…For there shall arise false Christ’s, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

3.   Matthew 27:63 “Saying, Sir(Pilate)we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.”

4.   Mark 7:20-23 “And Jesus said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.  For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

5.   John 7:12, 47 “And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people…Then answered the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?”

6.   Romans 3:13 “Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:”

7.   Romans 7:11 “For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.”

8.   Romans 16:17-18 “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

9.   I Corinthians 3:18 “Let no man deceive himself.  If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.”

10. I Corinthians 6:9-10 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
