BODY OF CHRIST
- Romans
12:4-8 “For as we have
many members in ONE BODY, all members have not the same
function: So we, being many, are ONE BODY in Christ, and every
one members one of another. Having
then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy,
ministry, teaching, exhortation, giving, rule,
mercy…”
- I
Corinthians 12:4-11
“Now there are diversity of gifts, but the same Spirit.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; word
of knowledge; faith; gifts of healing; miracles;
prophecy, discerning of spirits; divers kinds of
tongues; interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that
one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
- I
Corinthians 12:12-31
“For as the BODY is ONE, and hath many members, and all the
members of that ONE BODY, being many, are ONE BODY:
so also is Christ. For by one
Spirit are we all baptized into ONE BODY.
For the body is not one member but many.
Now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it
hath pleased him. Now ye are
the body of Christ, and members in particular.
And God hath set some in the church: first apostles,
secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles,
gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities
of tongues.”
- Ephesians
1:22-23 “God hath put
all things under Christ’s feet, and gave him to be the head over
all things to the church, which is his BODY, the fullness of
him that filleth all in all.”
- Ephesians
2:16, 19-22 “That
Christ might reconcile both unto God in ONE BODY by the cross,
having slain the enmity thereby: Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of
God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone:
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an
holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for
an habitation of God through the Spirit.”
- Ephesians
4:4-6 “There is ONE
BODY, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above
all and through all, and in you all.”
- Ephesians
4:7-8 “But unto every
one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift
of Christ. Wherefore he saith,
when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts
unto men.
- Ephesians
4:11-16 “And he gave
some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastor-teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the
work of the ministry, for the edifying of the BODY of Christ: Till we
all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of
Christ: That we henceforth be
no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in
wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all
things, which is the HEAD, even Christ: From whom the whole BODY
fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh
increase of the BODY, unto the edifying of itself in love.”
- Ephesians
5:23-32 “Christ is the HEAD
of the church; and he is the savior of the BODY.
The church is subject unto Christ.
Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might
sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having
spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and with out
blemish. For we are members of
his BODY, of his flesh, and of his bones.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the
church.”
- Colossians
1:18 “Christ is the HEAD
of the BODY, the church.”
- Colossians
1:24 “For Christ’s BODY’S
sake which is the church.”
- Colossians
3:15 “Ye are called in ONE
BODY.”
