BELIEVERS ESTABLISHING CHURCHES

1.          Acts 1:13, 26 “(Jerusalem)And when they were come in they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew,   Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.   Matthias was numbered with the eleven.”

2.           Acts Chapters 2 through 8:1 The twelve apostles ministered only in Jerusalem.  “And they were ALL scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, EXCEPT the apostles.”

3.          Acts 2-9-11Parthians, Meades, Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 5 Jersaulem Phyryglia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya, Rome, Jews   and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear from them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.”

4.          Acts 6:5-7:60Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people(Jerusalem)…they disputed with Stephen and they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake…And Stephen said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken unto me…And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sins to their charge.  And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”

5.          Acts 8:1 “At that time there was a  great persecution the church at Jerusalem; and they that were scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and samaria, except the apostles.”

6.          Acts 8:4 “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.”

7.          Acts 8:5-40Philip(Acts 6:5)went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. The angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from unto Gaza, which is desert.  The Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip.  But Philip was found in Azotus: and passing through he preached  in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.”(Acts 21:8 “Paul’s company departed, and came to Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.  And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.”

8.          Acts 9:10 “And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias;”

9.          Acts 9:19 “Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.”

10.      Acts 9:30 “The Damascus brethren brought Saul down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.”

11.      Acts 9:31 “Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea, Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy ghost, were multiplied.”

12.      Acts 9:32-10:48 “As Peter passed throughout all the quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.  For as much as Lydda was nigh to Joppoa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.  Then Peter arose and went with them.   Throughout all Joppa many believed in the Lord.  And it came to pass, that Peter tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.  Peter went away with them and they entered into Caesarea and Cornelius waited for them.”

13.      Acts 11:1-2:18 “The apostles and brethren that were in Judaea and Peter came up to Jerusalem from Caesarea.”

14.      Acts 11:19-24 “Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phenice, Cyprus and Antioch, preaching the word.   And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which when they were come to Antioch, spake, preaching the Lord Jesus.  The tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem; and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.”

15.      Acts 11:25-26 “Then departed Barnabas(Acts 4:36-37)to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And   when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch.  And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people.  And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

16.      Acts 11:30 “The church a Antioch sent relief to the elders of Judaea by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.”

17.      Acts 13:1f “In the church at AntiochBarnabas and Saul were sent out.”

18.      Acts 15:4, 6, 13, 22 “When Paul and Barnabas were come to Jerusalem, they were   received of the church; and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.  The apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.  Peter rose up, and said unto them…James, the brother of the Lord, answered, saying…Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren.”

19.      Acts 15: 35-41Barnabas  took John (who surname was Mark v.37)and sailed for    Cyprus; and Paul chose Silas, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.  And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

20.      Acts 16:1-9Paul, Titus and Timothy went through all the cities…and so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.  Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.  After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia; but the Spirit suffered them not.  And they passing by Mysia came   down to Troas.  And a vision appeared to Paul in the night;  there stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”

21.      Acts 28:13Paul found brethren in Puteoli Italy).”   

22.      Acts 28:14Brethren from Rome came to meet Paul.”

23.      Acts 28:30Paul dwelt in Rome in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.”

24.      Acts 13:1 through 28:31 “Paul’s three missionary journey accounts.”  

25.      Galatians 1: 16-19Paul: I conferred not with flesh and blood neither went I up to    Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me;  But I went into Arabia and returned again unto Damascus.  Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter and abode 15 days.  But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.”

26.      Galatians 1:21-24Paul came into the region of Syria and Cilicia and was unknown by face unto churches of Judaea which were in Christ:  But they had heard only about him.”

27.      Galatians 2:1, 7-9 “Then fourteen years after I(Paul)went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also…The Gospel of the uncirumcision was committed unto me, and as the Gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.  James, Peter and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.”
