TABERNACLE
OF DAVID
1.
II Samuel 6:12-15 “And
it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath
blessed(barak=to declare blessed) the house of Obededom,
and
all that pertaineth(hayah=to be) unto him, because of the ark
of
God(aron=chest). So David
went and brought up the ark of
God(aron=chest) from the house of Obededom into the city
of
David with gladness(simchah=rejoicing, joy). And it was so,
that
when they that bare(nasa=to lift up, bear away) the ark of the
Lord(aron=chest) had gone six paces, he sacrifice oxen(zabach=
to slaughter) and fatlings(meri=firm, fattened). And David
danced(karar=move around) before the Lord with all his
might(oz=strength, vigor); and David was girded(chagar=to
gird) with a linen(bad=fine linen) ephod(ephod=a priestly
garment). So David and all the house of Israel brought
up(alah=to cause to go up) the ark of the Lord(aron=chest)
with
shouting(teruah=shout), and
with the sound(qol=voice) of the
trumpet(shophar=trumpet).”
2.
II Samuel 6:17-19, 21-22
“And David said unto Michal, It was before the
Lord,
which chose me before thy father, and before all his house,
to
appoint me ruler over his house, to appoint me ruler over the
people
of the Lord, over Israel: there will I play(sachaq=to laugh,
play)
before the Lord. And I will yet be
more vile(qalal=to
become
light, lightly esteem)than thus, and will be base(shaphal=
humble)
in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou
hast
spoken of, of them shall I be had in honor.
And they brought
the ark(aron=chest)
of the Lord, and set it in his place(maqom=a
place
of standing), in the midst(chatsah=to halve, come to the
middle)
of the tabernacle(ohel=a tent) that David had pitched
(natah=to
incline) for it: and David offered(alah=to cause to go
up) burnt
offerings(olah=that which goes up) and peace offerings
(shelem=peace
offering) before the Lord. And as
soon as David
had
made an end of the offering burnt offerings and peace
offerings,
he blessed the people(barak=to declare blessed) in the
name
of the Lord of hosts. And he dealtchalaq=to
apportion)
among
all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel,
as
well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread
(challah=a perforated cake). and a good piece of(eshpar=a good
gift,
present) flesh(tibchah=slaughtered food), and a flagon
(ashishah=a
cake of grapes) of wine(yayin=what is pressed out of
grapes)
So all the people departed every one to his house.
The
David
returned to bless(barak=to declare blessed) his household.”
3.
I Chronicles 15:25-29
“So David, and the elders(zaqen=aged, bearded) of
Israel,
and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the
ark(aron=chest)
of the covenant(berith=league, covenant) of the
Lord
out of the house of Obededom with joy(simchah=rejoicing,
gladness).
And it came to pass, when God helped(azar=to help)
the Levites(decendents
of Levi) that bare(nasa=to lift up, bear
away)
the ark (aron=chest)of the covenant(berith=league,
covenant)
of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven
rams.
And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all
the Levites(decendents
of Levi) that bare(nasa=to lift up, bear
away)
the ark(aron=chest), and the singers(shir=to sing), and
Chenaniah
the master(sar=head, chief) of the song(massa=what is
lifted
up) with the singers(shir=to sing): David also had upon him
an
ephod(epod=a priestly garment) of linen(bad=fine linen).
Thus all Israel brought up(alah=to cause to go up)the ark(aron=
chest)
of the covenant(berith=league, covenant) of the Lord with
shouting(teruah=shout)
and with the sound(qol=voice)of the
cornet(shophar=trumpet)
and with trumpets (chatsotserah=
trumpet)and
with cymbals(metsiltayim=pair of cymbals), making
a
noise(shamea=to cause to hear) with psalteries(nebel=lyre, a
stringed
instrument) and harps(kinnor=harp).
And it came to
pass,
as the ark(aron=chest)of the covenant(berith=league,
covenant)
of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal the
daughter
of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing
(raqad=to
skip) and playing(sachaq=to laugh, play): and she
despised
him in her heart.”
4.
I Chronicles 16:1-3
“So they brought the ark(aron=chest)of God, and set it
in

(obel=tent)that

they
offered burnt(olah=that which goes up) sacrifices(zabach=to
slaughter)
and peace(shelem=peace)offerings(alah=to cause to go
up
before God. And when David had made
an end of offering the
burnt
offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in
the
name of the Lord. And he dealt(asah=to
do)to every one of
Israel,
both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread(kikkar=
cake),
and a good(tob=good), piece(eshpar=a
good gift, present)
of
flesh(basar=flesh)and a flagon(ashishah=cake of grapes) of
wine(yayin=what

(nathan=to

(sharath=to
serve) before the ark(aron=chest) of the Lord, and to
record(zakar=to
cause to remember), and to thank(yadah=

and praise(halal=to praise) the Lord God of Israel:
5.

the tabernacle
of David(sukkah=covering,

fallen(naphal=to

(qum=to

in the days of old(yom=day:”

the words(logos=word)
of the prophets(prophetes=those who

(graphomai

build
again) the tabernacle of David(skene=dwelling place) which
is fallen
down(pipto=to fall); and I will build again(anoihodomeo
=to
build again) the ruins(kataskapto=to dig down) thereof, and I
will
set it up(anorthoo=to make right again):”
