EPHESIANS 5:23-33
23:
“For the husband(aner=a
man) is the head(kephale=the head) of the wife(gune=a women), even
as Christ(anointed) is the head(kephale=the head) of the church(ekklesia=called
out ones): and he is the savior soter=a savior, preserver) of the body(soma=body).”
24:
“Therefore as the church(ekklesia=called
out ones) is subject (hupotasso =to set in array under) unto Christ(anointed),
so let the wives (gune= a women) be to their own husbands(aner=a
man) in every thing(pas=all, every).”
25:
“Husbands(aner=a
man), love(agapao=to love) your wives(gune=a woman), even as Christ(anointed)
also loved(agapao=to love) the church(ekklesia=called out ones)
and gave himself(paradidomi=to give over to) for it;”
26:
“That he might sanctify(hagiazo=to
set apart) and cleanse(katharizo=to make clean, clear) it with the washing(loutron=bath,
washing vessel) of water(hudor=water) by the word(rhema=word).”
27:
“That he might present(paristemi=to
set along side) it to himself a glorious(endoxos=in glory) church(ekklesia=called
out ones), not having spot(spilos=stain, blot), or wrinkle(rhutis=a
wrinkle), or any such things; but that it should be holy(hagios=separate,
set apart) and without blemish(amomos=spotless,
blameless).”
29:
“But man nourisheth(ektrepho=to
nourish much) and cherisheth (thalpo = heat soften, cherish) his own flesh(sarx=flesh),
even as the Lord(kurios= lord, master) the church(ekklesia=called
out ones).”
30:
“For we are members(melos=limb,
part of the body) of his body (sarx=body), of his flesh(sarx=flesh),
and of his bones(osteon=bone).”
32:
“This is a great(megas=great)
mystery(musteron=what is known only to the initiated): but I speak(lego=to
lay out, say) concerning(eis=with a view or regard to) Christ(anointed)
and the church(ekklesia=called out ones).”
