TESTIMONY OF JESUS

Is The Spirit Of Prophecy - Revelation 19:10

“I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Greek:  “I” = angel messenger

                        “fellow-servant” = fellow slave

                        “brethren” = adelphotes meaning brotherhood

                        “testimony” = maturia meaning a witness

                        “of Jesus” = savior

                        “spirit” = pneuma

                        “prophecy” = propheteia meaning speaking forth

TESTOMONY/WITNESS

  1. Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:10; Luke 13:21“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and , lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
  2. Mark 13:9 “Ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.”
  3. Luke 21:12-14 “But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.  And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
  4. John 1:51 “Jesus: Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”
  5. John 3:32-33 “And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.  He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.”
  6. Acts 13:31 “And He was seen many days of them which came up with him
  7. from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.”
  8. Acts 14:3 “Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”
  9. Acts 22:18 “And saw Him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.”
  10. I Corinthians 1:6 “Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:”
  11. I Corinthians 2:1 “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.”
  12. II Corinthians 1:12 “For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.”
  13. II Thessalonians 1:10 “When He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe because our testimony among you was believed in that day.”
  14. Revelation 1:2 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and all things that he saw.”
  15. Revelation 1:9 “I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
  16. Revelation 6:9 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held:”
  17. Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him(devil)by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
  18. Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of god, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
  19. Revelation 19:10 “I(angel)am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus; worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
  20. Revelation 15:5 “And after that I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:”
  21. Revelation 20:4 “I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God.”

 

PROPHECY

  1. II Peter 1:19 “We have also a more sure word of prophecy:”
  2. II Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
