Old Testament Promises:

THAT YE SIN NOT

(Exodus 20:20) “And Moses said unto the people, fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.”

CLEAN, ENDURING FOREVER

(Psalm 19:9) “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.”

TEACH THE WAY, DWELL AT EASE, HIS SEED INHERITS THE EARTH

(Psalm 25:12-13) “What man is he that feareth the Lord?  Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.”

SECRET OF THE LORD, SHOW HIS COVENENT (Psalm 25:14) “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him: and he will shew them his covenant.”

NO WANT, I WILL TEACH YOU

(Psalm 34:9, 11) “O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.  Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”

TEACH ME THY WAY, WALK IN THY TRUTH, UNITE MY HEART

BEGINNING OF WISDOM, GOOD UNDERSTANDING, DO HIS COMMANDMENTS

(Psalm 111:10) “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever.”

BLESSED, DELIGHTETH IN COMMANDMENTS, SEED SHALL BE MIGHTY, WEALTH AND RICHES

(Psalm 112:1-3) “Praise ye the Lord.  Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.  His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessedWealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever.”

STABLISH GOD’S WORD, DEVOTED TO GOD’S FEAR

(Psalm 119:38) “Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to

thy fear.”

BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE

(Proverbs 1:7) “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

UNDERSTAND, FIND KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

(Proverbs 2:5) “Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.”

NOT WISE IN OWN EYES, DEPART FROM EVIL

(Proverbs 3:7) “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”

(Proverbs 14:26) “In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall be a place of refuge.”

A FOUNTAIN OF LIFE, DEPART FROM SNARES OF DEATH

(Proverbs 14:27) “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”

CONTENTMENT

(Proverbs 15:16) “Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great

treasure and trouble therewith.”

INSTRUCTION OF WISDOM, HUMILITY

(Proverbs 15:33) “The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.”

DEPART FROM EVIL

(Proverbs 16:6) “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.”

TENDETH TO LIFE, ABIDE SATISFIED, NOT VISITED WITH EVIL

(Proverbs 19:23) “The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.”

RICHES, HONOR, LIFE

(Proverbs 22:4) “By humility and fear of the Lord are riches, and honor, and life.”

(Isaiah 33:6) “And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.”

REST, EDIFIED, WALKING IN FEAR OF THE LORD, COMFORT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, WERE MULTIPLIED

(Acts 9:31) “Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.”

CLEANSE OURSELVES, PERFECTING HOLINESS

(II Corinthians 7:1) “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION

(Philippians 2:12) “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
