“Now a certain man was sick(astheneo),
named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister
Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment,
and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was
sick(astheneo).
Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he
whom thou lovest is sick(astheneo).
When Jesus heard that, he said, this sickness(astheneia)
is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God
might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her
sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was
sick(astheneo),
he abode two days still in the same place where he was.”

-
Acts 5:15
“Insomuch that they
brought forth the sick(asthenes)
into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the
least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of
them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about
unto Jerusalem, bringing sick(asthenes)
folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they
were healed every one.”
-
Acts 8:5-8
“Then
Philip went down to the city of Samaria,
and preached
Christ unto them.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which
Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles
which he did. For
unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came
out of many that were possessed
with them:
and many taken with palsies,
and that were lame,
were healed.
And there was great joy in that city.”

-
Acts 13:8-12
“But
Elymas the sorcerer(for
so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to
turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul,(who also is
called Paul,)filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him.
And said, O full of all subtility and all
mischief, thou
child of the devil,
thou enemy of all righteousness,
wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways
of
the Lord? And
now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and
thou
shalt be blind,
not seeing the sun for a season. And immeditely there fell on
him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to
lead him by the hand. Then the deputy, when he saw what was
done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.”
-
Acts 14:8-10
“And there sat a certain man at Lyestra,
impotent(adunatos)in
his feet,
being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never
had walked: The
same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and
perceiving that he had
faith to be healed,
said, with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy
feet. And
he
leaped and walked.”
-
Acts 16:16-18
“And it came to pass, as
we went to prayer, a certain damsel
possessed with a spirit of divination
met us, which brought her masters much gain by
soothsaying: The
same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying,
These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto
us the way of
salvation.
And this did she many days, But Paul, being grieved, turned and
said to the spirit, I command thee in the name
of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same
hour.”
-
Acts 19:11-12

handkerchiefs
or aprons,
and the diseases departed from them,
and the evil spirits went out of them.”
-
Acts 28:8-9
“And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay
sick(katecho)
of a fever
and of a bloody flux:
to whom Paul entered in, and prayed,
and laid his hands on him,
and healed him.
So when this was done, others also, which had
diseases(astheneia)
in the island,
came, and were healed:”
-
Romans 8:26
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our
infirmities(asthenia):
for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought:
but the Spirit maketh intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered.”
-
Romans 15:1
“We then that are strong ought to bear the
infirmities (asthemia)
of the weak, and not to please ourselves.”
-
I Corinthians 11:29-30
“For he that eateth and
drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh
damnation(krima=judgment,
condemnation) to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For
this cause many are weak and sickly
(urrhostos)
among you, and many sleep.”
-
II Corinthians 11:30
“If I must needs glory,
I will glory of the things which concern mine
infirmities(astheneia).”
-
II Corinthians 12:4-10
“How he was
caught up into Paradise,
and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to
utter. Of such an one will I glory: yet of
myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I
will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any
man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or
that he heareth of me. And lest I should be exalted above
measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was
given to me a thorn in the flesh,
the messenger of Satan to buffet me,
lest I should be exalted above measure.
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that
it might depart from me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for
thee: for
my strength is made
perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities(astheneia),
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in
reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in
distresses for Christ's sake:
for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Of such
an one will I glory:
yet of myself I will not glory,
but in mine infirmities
(astheneia).
-
Galatians 4:13-14
“Ye know how
through infirmity(astheneia)
of the flesh I preached
the gospel unto you at the first.
And my temptation(peirasmos
= trial,
proof) which was in my flesh
ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of
God, even as Christ Jesus. Where is then the blessedness ye
spake of? For I bear you record, that, if it
had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and
have given them to me.”
-
Philippians 2:25-30
“Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you
Epaphroditus, my
brother, and companion in labor, and fellow solder, but your
messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. For he longed
after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had
heard that he had been sick(astheneo).
For indeed he was sick(astheneo)
nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only,
but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. I sent
him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again,
ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. Receive
him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in
reputation: Because for the work of Christ he
was nigh unto death,
not regarding his life, to supply your lack of
service toward me.”

Let us therefor come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in
time of need.”
-

sick(astheneo)
among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let

Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the
sick(kamno),
and the Lord
shall raise him up;
and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a
righteous man availeth much.”

Revelation 22:3-5
“And there shall be no more curse:
but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be
in it; and
his servants shall serve him:
And they
shall see his face;
and his name shall be in their foreheads.
And there shall be no night
there; and they need no candle,
neither light of the sun;
for the Lord God giveth them light:
and they shall reign forever and ever.”
