Mark 2:19-20 “And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bride chamber (numphon) fast, while the bridegroom (chathan) is with them?  As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.  But the days will come, when the bridegroom (chathan) shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.”

Mark 12:25 “For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry (gameo) nor are given in marriage (gamiskomai); but are as the angels which are in heaven.”

Luke 5:34-35 “And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bride chamber (numphon) fast, while the bridegroom is with them?  But the days will come, when the bridegroom (numphios) shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.”

Luke 12:35-38 “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding (gamos); that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.  And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.”

Luke 14:8 “When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding (gamos), sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honorable man than thou be bidden of him: And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.”
