Hebrew: loud=gadol meaning great, loud

                         shama meaning loud to the hearing

                         shamea meaning to cause to be heard

                             oz meaning strength, might

                         meod meaning much in strength

             shout= rua meaning to shout

                          terua meaning shouting, blowing

              noise= qol meaning loud voice

             crying= krange=a strong crying out

                             ranan= to cry aloud

 

Greek:   loud=megas meaning great

 

OLD TESTAMENT

1.             Exodus 19:19 “And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder (meod), Moses spake and God answered him by a voice.”

2.             Joshua 6:5, 10, 16, 20 “And it shall come to pass, that when thy make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout (terua); and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.”

3.             I Kings 8:55 “Solomon stood and blessed all the congregation with a loud voice (gadol), saying, Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant…”

4.             II Chronicles 20:19 “And the Levites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice (gadol) on high…”

5.             II Chronicles 30:21 “And the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day by day, singing with loud (oz) instruments unto the Lord.”

6.             Ezra 3:11-13 “But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice (gadol); and many shouted aloud (rua) for joy: So that the people could not discern the noise (qol) of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted (rua) with a loud (gadol) shout (rua) and the noise (qol) was heard afar off.”

7.             Nehemiah 9:4-6 “Then stood up upon the stairs of the Levites and cried with a loud voice (gadol) unto the Lord their God…”

8.             Nehemiah 12:42 “And the singers sang loud (shamea).  Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the women also and children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard \even afar off.”

9.             Job 38:7 “When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy (rua)?”

10.         Psalms 32:11 “Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy (ranan), all ye that are upright in heart.”

11.         Psalms 35:27 “Let them shout for joy (ranan), and be glad.”

12.         Psalms 47:1 “O clap your hands, all ye people, shout (rua) unto God with the voice of triumph.”

NEW TESTAMENT

1.             Matthew 27:46, 50; Mark 15:34, 37; Luke 23:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud (megas) voice, saying Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

2.             Luke 1:42 “Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice (megas), and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb…”

3.             Luke 17:15-16 “And one of ten, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice (megas) glorified God, and fell down on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving thanks: and he was a Samaritan.”

4.             John 11:43 “And when Jesus thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice (megas), Lazarus, come forth.”

5.             Acts 14:9-10 “Paul, beholding the man with impotent feet, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice (megas), Stand upright on thy feet.  And he leaped and walked.”

6.             Acts 16:28 “Paul cried with a loud voice (megas) saying, do thyself no harm: for we are all here.”

7.             Hebrews 5:7 “Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying (krauge) and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared:”(Matthew 26:39, 42 44)

8.             Revelation 5:2 “And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice (megas), who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?”
