BOLDNESS

 

Hebrew – boldness batach = sure, secure; to be confident, confidence in God

                                       oz = strength

Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold (batach) as a lion.”

Ecclesiastes 8:1 “…The boldness (oz) of his face shall be changed…”

 

Greek – boldness parrhesiazomai = confident and frank in utterance, free

                                                         utterance

         parrhesia = all out spokeness, frankness; bluntness;

                                                         assurance, free utterance

tharrheo = to exercise courage, to be warm, zealous,

                  daring

                                      tolmao = to be bold

                                      apotolmao = to be very bold

                                      tolmeroteron = the more boldly

Mark 15:43 “Joseph…came, and went in boldly (tolmao)…”

John 7:26 “He speaketh boldly (parrhesia), and they say nothing…”

Acts 4:13 “…They saw the boldness (parrhesia) of Peter and John…”

Acts 4:29 “Grant to thy servants that with all boldness (parrhesia) they may speak thy word.”
