“Ye are gods”

John 10:30-36 (Note: This quotation is from Psalms 82:6 “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”)

10:30          “I and my Father are one (Grk. heis = one).”

10:31          “Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

10:32          “Jesus answered them many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?”

10:33          “The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy (Grk. blasphemia = vilify, evil speaking, railing); and because that thou, being a man (Belonging to man, humanity), makest thyself god (Grk. theos=it can mean deity or magistrate depending upon the context).”(Note: See use of “god” in another scripture passage in Exodus 7:1)

10:34          “Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law (Grk. nomos=a law, ordinance, custom; Heb. Torah=direction, teaching), I said, Ye are gods? (Grk.  theos=it can mean deity or magistrate depending upon the context)”

10:35          “If he called them gods, (Grk. theos=it can mean deity or magistrate depending upon the context) unto whom the word (Grk. logos=word) of God came, and the scriptures (graphe=writing, anything written) cannot be broken; (luo=loosen, destroy, dissolve)”(Note: Matthew 5:17-19)

10:36          “Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest (Grk. blasphemia= vilify, evil speaking, railing); because I said, I am the Son (hulos=son, descendent) of God? (theos=it can mean deity or magistrate depending upon the context)”
