Vision

Hebrew chazown meaning a mental sight of supernatural origin

Greek for vision is horama meaning something gazed at; a supernatural appearance

Dream

Hebrew khalome meaning that which appears in sleep

Greek enupnion meaning that which appears in sleep

Revelation

Hebrew galah meaning to uncover

Greek for revelation is apokalupsis meaning an uncovering; to disclose; bring light upon


 

VISIONS:

  1. Genesis 15:1f “The Lord came to Abraham in a vision.”

  2. Numbers 12:6-7 “I the Lord will make myself known to the prophet in a vision.”

  3. II Samuel 3:1f “The word of the Lord was precious in those days for there was no open vision.”

  4. II Samuel 7:17 “Nathan spake to David according to this vision.”

  5. Jeremiah 23:16 “Some prophets speak a vision of their own heart and not out of the mouth of God.”

  6. Lamentations 2:9 “Unfaithful to God…her prophets find no vision from the Lord.”
