2:1 “Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” –

      “ Son of perdition” –

           apoleia lost soul; destruction; doomed to destruction; of hell

2:4 “Opposeth and exalteth himself” –

           antikemai to set over against; to lie opposite; adversary

      “above all that is called God” –

          epi over

      “sitteth in the temple of God” –

          kathizo tarry; settle; continue; take his seat

      “showing himself that he is God” –

2:5 “Remember I told you these things?” – often; repeatedly

2:6 “withholdeth” – katecho to hold down or back; restrain

      “revealed in his time” –apokalupto to take off cover; disclose

                                              kairos appointed season; set or proper time

2:7 “Mystery of iniqity doth already work” –

           musterion once hidden but now revealed

           anomia wickedness; violation of law; lawlessness; conspiracy; revolt

           energeo to be active; effective

      “He who now letteth will let” – katecho to hold down; hold fast

      “until he be taken out of the way” –

           ginomai be out of the way; restraining power; who is holding him back;

                          steps out of the way

2:8 “Then shall that wicked be revealed” –

           anomos lawless

           apokalupto to take cover off; disclose

      “Lord will consume” – analisko to use up; destroy
