DELIVERANCE FROM DEMONS
DEFINITION:
1.
The term demon possession in the Greek is daimonizomai meaning
to act under control of a demon thus expressing the mind and consciousness of
a demon indwelling a person.
2.
There are no New Testament examples of true believers being possessed
by demons, only unbelievers. Thus one who is Holy Spirit possessed cannot at
the same time be demon possessed.
3.
However, the demons can work and speak through, influence and have
victory through a believers’ flesh, i.e., Peter in Matthew 16:23 and Luke
22:31.
4.
Caution: Don’t underestimate demons by denying or ignoring their
existence but also don’t over-estimate demons and responding with fear or
defeat.
