CHURCH (EKKLESIA) IS NOT A PLACE

Jesus experienced and shared koinonia (fellowship) and ekklesia (church life) with the Father in the eternity!

Jesus experienced and shared koinonia and ekklesia with His disciples!

Jesus said: “Our fathers (pateres = ancestors) worshiped (proscun) in this mountain (oros = mount, hill); and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place (topos) where men ought to (dei = it behooveth) worship.  Believe me, the hour (hora) cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain (oros = mount, hill), nor yet at Jerusalem, worship (proskun = kiss toward) the Father (pater).  The hour (hora) cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers (proskunetes = a worshiper) shall worship (proskun) the Father (pater) in spirit (pneuma) and in truth (aletheia): for the Father (pater) seeketh such to worship (proskun) Him.  God (theos = object of worship) is a Spirit (pneuma): and they that worship (proskun) Him must worship (proskun) him in Spirit (pneuma) and in truth (aletheia).” (John 4:20-24)

The koinonia and ekklesia occurred in the Gospel accounts wherever Jesus and His disciples were and in the Acts and Epistle accounts everywhere the Body of Christ was:

koinonia and ekklesia relationships were continued by the apostles as they shared this way of Life with all new disciples and in turn all the new disciples shared this way of Life with everyone and everywhere as they were scattered abroad!

Note: The only “meeting” Jesus ever had was “meeting” with His Father daily and in “meeting” the needs of others.  A service can become “serve-us” and a meeting can become a “me-thing”!
