mystery mistar = secret hiding place

               sod = secret, counsel

               sethar = hiding or secret place

               raz = a secret

GREEK:

mystery musterio = what is known only to the initiated; a secret; a mystery; a fact or truth that man is unable to discover by himself; a fact or truth that has to be revealed to man; some truth that was not previously known; some truth that could not be discovered by human reason; some truth that had to be revealed by God if it were ever to be known.

  1. Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
  2. Psalms 25:14 “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.”
  3. Psalms 31:20 “Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shall keep them secretly in a pavillion from the strife of tongues.”
  4. Psalms 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
  5. Proverbs 3:32His secret is with the righteous.”
  6. Isaiah 45:3 “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by they name, am the God of Israel.”
  7. Daniel 2:22, 28He revealth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.  There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets.”
  8. Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord God will do nothing but, he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
  9. Matthew 6:6 “Pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
  10. Matthew 13:11;Mark 4:11; Luke 8:10 “He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”
  11. Matthew 13:35 “I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.”
  12. Luke 8:17 “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest;”
  13. Romans 11:25 “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.  And so all Israel shall be saved:”
