REVEAL/REVELATION

Hebrew: galah = to uncover, remove

Greek: apokalupto = to uncover, unveil

apokalupsis = An uncovering

Note: “Revelation” comes in direct proportion to our “relationship” with and to Christ.

  1. Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
  1. Daniel 2:19-23 “Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.  Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep(amiq=deep) and secret (raz=secret) things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.  I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who has given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.”
  1. Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret(sod=counsel) unto his servants the prophets.”
  1. Matthew 10:26; Luke 12:2 “Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.”
  1. Matthew 11:25; Luke 10:21 “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”
  1. Matthew 11:27 “All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.”
  1. Matthew 16:17; Luke 10:22 “And Jesus answered and said unto Peter, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”
  1. Luke 2:25-27 “And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.  And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.  And he came by the Spirit into the temple:”
  1. Luke 2:35 “Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy(Mary)own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
  1. I Corinthians 2:9-10 “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep(bathos=the depth) things of God.”
  1. I Corinthians 14:6 “Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?”
  1. I Corinthians 14:26 “How is it then, brethren?  When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation.  Let all things be done unto edifying.”
  1. I Corinthians 14:29-32 “Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let him first hold his peace.  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets."

II Corinthians 12:1-2 “It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory.  I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.  I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth; such an one caught up to the third heaven.”
  1. II Corinthians 12:7 “And let I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.”
  1. Galatians 1:12 “For I neither received it(Gospel)of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
  1. Galatians 2:1-2 “Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus, with me also.  And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preached among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.”
  1. Ephesians 1:17 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
  1. Ephesians 3:3-5 “By revelation God made known unto me the mystery; As I wrote afore in few words, whereby, when ye read, ye many understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.”
  1. I Peter 1:10-12 “Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow.  Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.”
  2. Revelation 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:”
