REASONS
CHURCH ASSEMBLED TOGETHER
1.
Discipline: (Matthew 18:17-19)
“Tell it(brother’s trespass) to the church; but if he neglect
to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a
publican.” If two of you shall agree on earth as touching
anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which
is in heaven. For where
two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in
the midst of them.”
2.
Prayer: (Acts 1:4) “Jesus being
assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart
from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he,
ye have heard of me.” (Acts1:14)
“And they all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,
with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”
3.
Preaching: (Acts 2:1,
14-41)And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one
accord in one place…But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up
his voice and said unto them…”(Acts 4:2) “They (apostles) taught
the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the
dead.” (Acts 4; 5:42) “And daily in the Temple, and in every house,
they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
4.
Praise: (Matthew 21:16) “Out of
the mouth of babes and sucklings, thou hast perfected praise.”
(Luke 19:37-38, 40) “And when Jesus was come nigh, even now at
the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples
began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the
mighty works that they had seen; saying, Blessed be the King that cometh
in the Name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
Jesus said, If these people should hold their peace, the stones
would immediately cry out.” (Acts 2:46-47) “And they, continuing daily
with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, did
eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God,
and having favor with all the people.
And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
(Acts 3:8) “The lame man entered with them(Peter & John) into the
Temple, walking, and leaping and praising God.”(Acts 16:25)
“Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God.” (Romans
15:11) “Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud Him, all ye
people.” (I Peter 2:9) “Ye should shew forth the praises of
Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light:”
(Hebrews 2:12) “In the midst of the church will I sing praise
unto Thee.” (Hebrews 13:15)
“By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name.”
(Revelation 19:5) “And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise
our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear Him, both small and
great.”
5.
Worship: (Luke 24:52)

joy: and were continually in the Temple, praising and blessing God.”

come together into one place…” (Hebrews 10:25) “Not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one
another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
6.
Teaching: (Acts 4:2,
4)-“They taught the people, and preached through Jesus the
resurrection from the dead. Howbeit
many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was
a bout five thousand. (Acts
5:42) “Daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach
and preach Jesus Christ.” (Acts
11:26) “A whole year they(Silas and Saul) assembled themselves with the
church(Antioch), and taught much people.”

Persecution: (Acts 4:23-32)

reported all that the chief priests and elders had done unto them.
And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with
one accord…”
8.
Selection of the Seven(Acts
6:2-7) “Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them,
and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve
tables. Wherefore,
brethren, look ye out among you seven men…and the saying pleased
the whole multitude: and they chose…”

the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul

they sent them away. So
they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed…”(Acts
15:3-4) “And Paul and Silas being brought on their way by the church,
they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the
Gentiles, and they caused great joy

together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how
he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

Barnabas)were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church and
of the apostles and elders, and they(Paul & Silas)declared
all things that God had done with them.”
11.
Doctrinal Decisions:
(Acts 15:5-22) “There rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which
believed, saying, That is was needful to circumcise them, and to command
them to keep the law of Moses. But
we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be
saved, even as they. Then
pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church…”
