CASTING OUT DEMONS
A.
Definition: daimonizomai to
acts under the absolute control of a demon thus expressing the very mind
and consciousness of a demon indwelling a person.
1.
There are no New Testament examples of believers being possessed by
demons…only unbelievers…thus one who is Spirit possessed cannot be
demon possessed.
2.
Even though a believer cannot be possessed he can be oppressed by
demons. The demons can work
and speak through, influence, and have victory and strong holds in a
believer’s flesh, i.e., Matthew 16:23; Luke 22:31.
3.
It must be pointed out that even an unbeliever cannot be possessed
unless a person allows that control.
Even God will not violate a person’s will and certainly would not
allow demons to do so.
4.
Caution: Do not underestimate demons by denying or ignoring
existence but also do not overestimate them by being defeated or fearful.
