DENY/DENYING

  1. Matthew 16:24(Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23) “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him denyaparneomai=to deny utterly) himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
  2. Matthew 26:35(Mark 14:30-31; John 13:38) “Peter said unto him, Though I should dies with thee, yet will I not deny(aparneomai=to deny utterly) thee.  Likewise also said all the disciples.”
  3. Matthew 26:70, 72, 74-75(Mark 14:72; John 18:25, 27) “But Peter denied(arneomai=to deny, disown) before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.  And again Peter deniedarneomai=to deny, disown) with an oath, I do not know the man.  Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man.  And immediately the cock crew.  And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Be fore the cock crow, thou shalt deny (aparneomai= to deny utterly) me thrice.  And he went out, and wept bitterly.”
  4. Luke 12:8-9 “Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth(arneomai=to deny, disown) me before men shall be denied(arneomai=to deny, disown) before the angels of God.”
  5. Luke 20:27 “Then came to Jesus certain of the Sadducees, which deny(antilego=to speak against) that there is any resurrection:”
  6. Acts 3:13-14 “The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied(arneomai=to deny, disown) him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.  Ye denied(arneomai=to deny, disown) the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you.”
