CHRISTIAN NAMES

Biblical names were given on the basis of: 1)Vocation, i.e. carpenter 2)Character, i.e. James son of thunder or Jacob the supplanter 3)Aspiration of others, i.e. Simon’s name changed to Peter.

arly Christians received their names as believers from at least three sources: 1)Non-Christians 2) Christians 3) God.  Christians lived their lives so differently from the world that they received distinctive names by others.  These names characterized their very lives.
