FAR EAST MISSION REPORT 2008

Just as Paul experienced open and closed doors according to Acts 16:6-10, so we also have learned to completely trust the leadership of the Holy Spirit concerning: a) who is to travel with us as co-laboring servants b) to which specific nations we are to travel c) the exact timing of each journey d) the duration of each mission and e) what the Lord would choose to minister through us while in these nations.

It is our desire to be good stewards of God’s resources that He generously provides for these missionary journeys. Thus we choose to serve in as many nations of a region as we possibly can during each journey.

In preparation for the 2008 Far East Mission, we discerned in our spirit that God was leading us to go to the Philippines, India and China. Thus we committed ourselves to the servant leaders in these nations our intention to minister as servants among them.

After our travel arrangements were finalized, we were to leave the US for the Philippine Islands on January 14, arriving in Manila on the 15th and then via a connecting a flight to arrive in the Mindanao Islands on the 16th.

With only two weeks before our departure on this mission to the Philippines, I began to feel a strong check in my spirit about traveling to the Philippines. It was so strong that I had to notify our host in the Philippines that the Lord for some reason did not want us to come at this time and I could not explain to him why.

I sent this email message at about 10:00 PM one evening and in less that five minutes, before our host could receive our message, he sent an email to me saying that the team that was to serve with us in Mindanao, whom I previously had the joy of equipping and mentoring, had also felt led not to go there but rather that they should minister in another part of the Philippine Islands.

This was a confirmation that we had correctly heard the Lord. When our host did receive our message that we were not coming to the Philippines, he was disappointed but was in agreement and concurred with our decision.

Later we received the news of a Muslim uprising in the Mindanao Islands on the very day of January 16 that we were to have arrived there. The Philippine Army was called in to quell the riot in which a priest was killed, other Christians injured and church buildings were destroyed by fire. Upon hearing this news, we then knew why the Spirit forbade us to go to the Philippines at this time.

We decided then to fly directly to India and bypass the Philippines, which we did on January 29. The Lord had sovereignly put together our team of co-laborers for this India leg of the mission. Our team was made up of a brother from Pennsylvania, another from South Carolina and one from Texas. Two of us met in Chicago and flew together to Delhi and third brother flew from Newark to Delhi and joined us there on the same day.

We ministered in Delhi with a dear friend and brother we have known for many years. We stayed at the YWCA in Delhi. Our host gathered key servant leaders from throughout Delhi and we spent three days equipping these workers for Kingdom ministry in reaching their city and nation for Christ. Our team ministered together by teaching and sharing as the Holy Spirit directed each of us. The Lord led us in the following areas of ministry: 1) “Knowing Life Experiences” 2) “Knowing Christ As Pre-eminent” 3) Knowing We Are In Christ” 4) “Knowing Who We Are In Christ” 5) “Knowing How To Walk And See In Faith” 6) “Knowing How To Hear And Obey God” 7) “Knowing Our Calling, Equipping and Fulfillment of His Ministry Through US For Kingdom Service” 8) “Knowing The Ekklesia Jesus Is Building Today And Our Function In It”.

It was a powerful demonstration of the leading of the Spirit and much fruit was and will continue to borne as a result for God’s glory.

We then flew from Delhi to Shillong on February 5 to continue ministering by the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We were hosted in Shillong by a dear friend and brother we have also known for many years. The location of our lodging and training ministry was the Pastoral Centre in Shillong where we equipped and trained twelve servant leaders from seven different nations including India, China, Switzerland, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh and the USA.

It is important that I explain how the Lord put this historical gathering of seven nations together. In the early planning stages of this mission to India, I had emailed servant leaders in six nations to intercede for us as we ministered in their neighboring country of India. Upon receiving my prayer request, each of these brothers responded by saying that the Holy Spirit had directed them to ask to be invited to this equipping and training in Shillong. I then contacted our host, in Shillong to see what his response would be to these nations participating and he immediately emailed me back that he thought this was of the Lord and to go ahead and extend an open invitation to these nations. Thus, this is how God brought together this historical gathering of servant leaders from seven nations.

Another thing the Lord did in preparation for this historical gathering of leaders occurred approximately a year earlier when the respective governments of China and India signed a government to government agreement that allowed land passage by Visa on arrival, which was the first time in history these nations had done so.

Still another prelude to our 2008 mission to India was the “revival fire” that began to sweep throughout the Shillong, India area beginning in 2006 and continuing through 2008. The Holy Spirit was moving especially among the children and young people with visions and dreams. Children in Hindu schools were seeing visions and having dreams of Jesus. From the Hindu schools the “revival fires” swept through the Presbyterian churches of the Shillong area. Believers in these churches were falling under the the power of God’s presence during their worship services. They would then extend their gatherings for hours and even days as the Holy Spirit demonstrated His power with signs and wonders!

While on our mission to Shillong, we visited many of the remaining pockets of “revival fire” in the various Presbyterian Churches of the area where the power of God was still being experienced in visions, dreams and in falling under the power of His presence! On one of the last gatherings we attended, several children fell under the power of God’s presence and began to tell us what Jesus had told them during the time they were on the floor under the power of God. They said that Jesus told them to tell those of us from the seven nations who had gathered that we were going to take the “revival fire” back to our respective nations and that it would continue to spread throughout the world!

During our mission in Shillong, I became seriously ill with an obstruction in my urinary tract due to an enlarged prostate gland. An infection accompanied with fever and chills. This happened in the middle of the night at the Pastoral Centre where we were conducting our equipping and training of the brothers from seven nations. I had my host in Shillong to rush me to the emergency room at a nearby private Christian hospital that was owned by a personal friend of my host.

They checked me into the emergency room and examined me and ran tests and x-rays, etc. Their diagnosis confirmed that I had an enlarged prostate that was causing an obstruction of my urinary tract and backing up fluids into my bladder, which could have caused even more serious problems of uremic poisoning. The doctor immediately put a catheter in me to relieve the severe pain and the pressure in my bladder and gave me antibiotics for the infection and fever. They kept me overnight for observation and dismissed me the next day to go back to the Pastoral Centre. The doctor strongly advised that I cancel my China mission and return to the USA for medical help, which I concurred wholeheartedly!

I was greatly disappointed to not be able to go back to my beloved China to see our precious brothers and sisters there, but it was not meant to be on this trip for God had a different plan. I asked the two Chinese brothers who attended our seven nation training and equipping gathering in Shillong, to go ahead with the previously planned mission in China, only without me accompanying them this time. My nephew from Texas will join them on March 2 when he will fly from Houston to Beijing for this mission. I asked the other mission co-laborers to mentor my nephew as I had mentored them on my previous missions to China. They have assured me that they will pass on to my nephew what I shared with them and thus fulfill the II Timothy 2:2 mandate of multiplying servant leaders!

Another dear brother from Oregon contacted me about joining the mission team in China. I put him in touch with with our host in Beijing and he will join the team in the North East and co-labor together with them. It was miraculous how the Lord put together yet another team to minister together as servants to the beloved Chinese people.

While I remained in Shillong, India for two more weeks before returning to the USA, I spent time equipping and training the servant leaders from the seven nations who gathered at the Pastoral Centre in Shillong. At first, I tried to travel to some of the places where the “revival fires” were still burning in the Shillong area, but soon realized that my physical condition would not allow this to continue. So, I remained in the Pastoral Centre and later moved to a hotel and then to the private home of my host in Shillong.

From these locations, I taught from my bedside those who came for training and equipping. There were many different servant leaders who came for mutual fellowship and edification in addition to those of the seven nations. There were leaders from various parts of India, leaders from area Presbyterian churches, a Southern Baptist missionary and a missionary from England. It was a powerful time in the Spirit as we shared together the Life of our Lord Jesus!

Still anothr crisis occured when I as in Shillong.  During my illness while still teaching at the Pastoral Centre, I received an emergency message from the US that my sister had passed away.  It was very sad news, but not unexpected since my sister had been ill for some time with cancer.  Before I left the States, I visited with her and she insisted that I go on this mission and that she would see me when I got back at her home or at our home in heaven!

The brothers from the seven nations ministered to me in prayer and encouraged me in this special time of need.  I was so grateful for their love and concern.  Before I left Shillong, the young servant leaders I had trained told me that they learned many things from me in the teachings, but one of the greatest lessons they learned was from how I responded to my sudden illness and the loss of my sister.  So one never knows the influence they have on others, not only in teaching but in how one responds to an illness and to the death of a loved one.

On our last two weekends in Shillong, we worshiped with the house church where my host and his family gathered. Most of the brothers from the seven nations had returned to their respective countries with only brothers from China, India and the USA remaining in Shillong. During one of the house church gatherings, the Lord led our host to have the Chinese brothers pray in their Chinese language for their Indian brothers. Then the Indian brothers prayed in their native language for their brothers from China. Finally, the Indian and Chinese brothers prayed in their own respective languages for those of us from the USA. We in turn prayed for these brothers as well. It was a awesome experience and the power of God was mightily present among us. Something very historical occurred in the Spirit that will forever change and enrich our lives!

We broke bread together around the Lord’s Supper with our brothers and sisters. As we drank from the same cup and ate from the single loaf, we all felt the unity of the Spirit in our midst. The custom of this house church gathering was for each person participating to share their bread with one another. It was so moving to see the brothers and sisters moving about the room sharing the bread and cup with one another!

Two of our co-workers flew by helicopter to Tura, India to minister to a group of servant leaders and to gather with several house churches in the mountainous jungles of the Tura area. They had a very fruitful ministry and a powerful time in the Lord on this mission. One of our co-workers then flew back to Delhi to catch his return flight back to the USA. The other team member flew back to Gahatte, India to await my arrival for our return to Delhi.

Our host, his lovely wife and precious children accompanied me to the helicopter pad where I took my flight to meet my fellow worker for our return trip to Delhi. My host and his family embraced me and he wept in gratitude for our being obedient to the Lord to come and share His life with our Indian brothers and sisters. The helicopter ride was quite a harrowing and dangerous flight over the mountainous terrain but I finally arrived safely in Gahatte.

My co-worker and I made our connecting flight to Delhi where we were met by a dear brother from the house church fellowship that had previously hosted us. He drove us to our host’s home where we were greeted by the brothers and sisters of their house church. We also enjoyed a delicious meal in their home before they took us back to the Delhi airport for our flight back to the USA. My co-worker and I flew together to Chicago where he took a connecting flight to Pennsylvania and I took my flight home to Texas.

Upon my arrival in DFW, my wife and a dear friend, who is an ER nurse, met me and accompanied me to my physician in Tyler. Before leaving India, the believers gathered around me, anointed me with oil, and prayed a prayer of faith for my healing. They asked the Lord to allow me to return home safely and when my physician in the USA examined me, he would find that my prostate gland was normal and would then remove the catheter and I would be completely healed.

Well, that is precisely what happened! My physician examined me and found my prostate normal and then proceeded to remove the catheter. He had me to remain for a couple of hours until he was sure that my urinary tract was not obstructed. Everything was working properly and he dismissed me and only wanted to see me again in four weeks as a precaution. I was healed as our brothers and sisters in India and around the word had believed in faith and prayer. We give our Lord all the glory and honor for His healing! I am now recuperating at home and regaining my strength from the weakness of my previous bladder and urinary tract infection. The doctor said that it would take about a month to fully regain my strength.

I want to hank all of you so much for your continued prayers and for your prayerful and generous support for our 2008 Far East Mission. God truly blessed through His open and closed doors to accomplish His eternal purposes through His ministry in and through us for which we give Him all the glory!

Far East Mission Report 2007

Posted on April 9, 2007

(Note: Personal names, cities and provinces have deliberately been omitted to protect those who are ministering in these countries.)

FAR EAST MISSION REPORT 2007

The Lord laid this mission on my heart in 2006 and I felt in my spirit a stirring that He wanted a team of us to go to the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and China.  As we prayed and sought the mind of the Lord further, God confirmed the Philippines, Indonesia and China.  Pakistan became closed to us because the US State Department would not allow us to travel there due to security reasons; however, we invited the brother who originally invited us to Pakistan, to train with us in India in 2008 when we return to the Far East.  India did would not work out for us personally due to travel and scheduling problems; however, another team took our place and fulfilled our commitment to minister with the brother who had invited us to India originally and with whom we will serve in 2008.

We were “sent out” by the body of Christ in our city as believers from various congregations gathered to lay hands on representatives of the mission team that were to go to the Far East.  There were several powerful words spoken over us including a prophecy concerning our connecting with high government authorities while on this Far East Mission.

When the Lord confirmed the countries in which we would minister, we then began to receive His resources that He always provides to affirm that the mission is of Him.  We were able to take money from believers in the USA to give away to the various mission needs in the three countries we visited.  For the first time, we received love offerings from the countries in which we ministered on this 2007 mission, which we in turn also gave away during this trip.

On the night before we flew back to the States, a businessman and his wife gave me an offering insisting that it was designated for our personal needs back in the United States and for me not to give it away as I had done the other offerings, so I brought it home and blessed my wife with this love gift!  What a blessing to see these believers not only receiving offerings but now giving offerings as well, which is a sign of maturity in the Lord!

Our first nation to visit was the Philippines.  We had previously been there in September of 2005 and at that time we met with twenty-one servant leaders as an observer and encourager.  On this return mission, we equipped and ministered to a team of five young servants God is using in His Kingdom work in China, Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.  Our training sessions were held in hotel rooms, restaurants, vans and on the beach.  It was truly an “as you go” type of equipping ministry that was a tremendous blessing to us all.

In fulfillment of the prophecy given by our sending church, the Lord led several government officials to meet with us in the Philippines.  We met with a member of the House of Representative of the Philippine National Congress, an assistant to the President of Manila and a representative of the Governor’s office in Manila.  These “connections” were totally led of the Spirit.  All of these officials took the initiative to contact us as the Holy Spirit directed them.  It was amazing to behold how the Lord accomplished this.

We have been invited back to the Philippines in December of this year 2007 to conduct a Marriage and Family Seminar to ministers and their wives from throughout the Islands.  We have appointments with government officials upon our return visit in December to determine how we can work together for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom in the Philippines.

Our next mission was to Indonesia.  I invited one of the brothers from the Philippines to join me in flying to Indonesia to co-labor there.  He had received a “Macedonian call” from Indonesia in 2003 so this was a fulfillment of his vision to travel there.  I was able to connect him with the Indonesia leaders so that he and the apostle team that he is a part in the Philippines can return later this year and equip and train Indonesian leaders for Kingdom work.

Our hosts in Indonesia were a Christian businessman and his wife.  We stayed in their lovely and spacious home the entire time we were in Indonesia.  He and his wife graciously hosted every group that I ministered to while in Indonesia.  We ministered to a varied group including denominational leaders, house church leaders, university students and business people.

Our visit to Indonesia was very timely led by the Spirit.  Just prior to our arrival, the Indonesian Muslim government passed new laws prohibiting Christians from buying any more land, from being granted any new building permits and from being allowed to assemble anymore in hotels or shopping malls.  In fact the persecution is getting so severe that in one province alone over the past twelve months, militant Muslims had burned or demolished eighty church buildings.

The denominational leaders shared with me that the only way they could now survive was to “go underground” by meeting in homes.  The Holy Spirit led them to invite me to equip and train them in transitioning into house churches throughout Indonesia.

They invited our team to return in 2008 to train their leaders in the five major Indonesia cities to establish house churches throughout the islands.  In the mean time, our co-laborer from the Philippines is committed to return this year (2007) to also help equip and train these Indonesian leaders in these major cities.

Our final nation to visit was China.  This was the seventh mission of our teams to the Mainland since 2003.  Last year in 2006, I personally could not travel to China due to security problems, but our team went on without me and God tremendously blessed them.  On this 2007 mission we focused mainly upon major cities and surrounding provinces.

Our hosts are owners of a factory.  We taught these factory workers and other leaders from various provinces.  We also traveled by bus, train and airplane to nearby provinces to equip and train many other leaders.

In one province we ministered to fifteen leaders and in another province, we ministered to 90 leaders who represented about 1,000 churches of the Three-Self Church and House Churches.  Our hosts included a house church brother who had been imprisoned eight times for his faith and a Three Self Church brother who risked his life to host this gathering.  This was a unique and historic gathering as we were asked by both the Three Self Church and House Church leaders to minister on the subjects of “Unity” and “Loving One Another.”

At the close of our time together, the Holy Spirit mightily ministered in our midst showing visible signs of love and unity among these leaders as they embraced and received one another as co-laborers together in China!  They feel that the Lord will use them to set the example throughout all of China on how the Three Self and House Churches can work together under present governmental restrictions.

We also had the joy of having brothers and sisters from the North East to join us in one of the cities.  We had a wonderful time of fellowship and catching up on everything since we had last been together in 2005.  One of our brothers shared about his arrest and we had special prayer with him for healing over this painful and emotional ordeal.

We were blessed also to witness a water baptism of six new believers in a hot tub at a retreat location.  We also ministered in a book and gift shop that had an adjoining room for the gathering of their house church.  We ministered to an Artist’s Village house church and at an Orphanage where we delivered love gifts from house churches in America.

After forty-two days of mission travels, we returned home to the USA rejoicing over what our Lord had accomplished for His glory in the Philippines, Indonesia and China.  We are now home recuperating from jet lag, the extensive ministry schedule and are catching up on the hundreds of emails that came during our absence.

Our love and gratitude is extended to everyone for their prayers, support and encouragement in being a vital part of this historic mission journey to the Far East in 2007.  Only eternity will reveal the fruit that will be borne as a result of all of us laboring together in going, sending and supporting this mission venture for the glory of God!

2005 Mission Trip to Phillipines

Posted on April 9, 2007

Report of PHILIPPINE ISLAND MISSION
September 4-12, 2005

The leadership-training gathering began on Tuesday morning of September 6 and concluded on Thursday night of September 8.  Eman Abrea, from the Philippines, and Dr. David Lim, from Mainland China, hosted the leadership training sessions and I served together with them as the facilitator.  We met in a special meeting room with an adjacent dinning room in the same hotel where all the other leaders and I stayed, which made it very convenient for us all.  The meeting room was large and spacious with tables and chairs arranged in a rectangle so everyone could see the faces of their fellow leaders.

There were twenty-two leaders present, not including other guests who sat in on the sessions.  Most of the leaders were from the Philippines but there were also leaders present who ministered in China, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Our first daily session was on Tuesday of September 6, beginning at 8:00 AM with a time of fellowship and getting to know one another.  Many of the leaders were meeting their counterparts for the first time since they had all come from different Islands of the Philippines as well as other nations.  They all agreed that the agenda should be led by the Holy Spirit and only facilitated by the hosts and me as their special guest.  This was so exciting to just trust the Lord for what He wanted to do among us.  In the remaining part of the first session, we shared about How to Start and Nurture New Churches not only in the Philippines but also throughout the world.  We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack breaks in between sessions and adjourned at about 9:00 PM after informal sharing and Q&A.

The second daily session was on Wednesday of September 7, beginning promptly at 7:30 AM with a breakfast.  At 8:00 AM everyone shared what they called their “Life Scripture Verses,” which was a very inspirational and blessed time.  Promptly at 8:00 AM, we began sharing about “The Biblical Church Pattern” and “How to Multiply Churches” throughout the Philippine Islands and in other Nations.  As during the first session, we had lunch, dinner and snacks in between and closed again with informal sharing and Q&A.

The third session was on Thursday of September 8 that began at 7:30 AM with breakfast.  At 8:00 AM, we again, we had a time of sharing our “Life Scripture Verses.”   We then shared about “Spiritually Connecting” with other leaders and churches throughout the nations.

Then the session suddenly turned to a different topic than was scheduled and the Holy Spirit took complete control of the gathering!  Everyone began to share their hearts and stories of brokenness and pain from fatherless homes, physical abuse, sex abuse, broken marriages, unfaithful adulterous husbands’ and wives’ affairs, etc.  Then the Lord led me to share about the prophetic Biblical word for the end-times when the “hearts of the fathers would be turned to the sons and the sons to the fathers.”

Suddenly, the Holy Spirit engulfed the room with His presence and everyone began to weep and embrace one another.  Everyone of the twenty two leaders at various times came over to where I was seated and asked permission to embrace me as their father.  They all sadly told me that they had never hugged a father before and needed to feel the love of a father.  I let them embrace me as long as they needed to as they wept on my shoulder.  Several leaders asked permission to kiss me on the cheek, as they had always wanted to do to their own fathers.

In the Philippines, there is a dearth of father and son/daughter relations because so many dads have to move to other nations to make a living and send their money back to their families.  So there is a great absenteeism of fathers in that nation.  The leaders shared with me that this has caused an epidemic of homosexuality throughout the nation that makes the Philippines second only to Thailand in total number of homosexuals and in sex slavery.

There was not a dry eye in the whole room and then everyone began to embrace again, asking forgiveness for their pride and jealousy towards one another.  They all assured each other of their love and support to co-labor together for the advancement of the Kingdom of Christ throughout the Philippines and the nations of the world.

I then warned the leaders of the pending attacks of the enemy upon them as they were now committed to take the light of Jesus into the darkness of Satan’s kingdom.  At that very moment, my host, Eman Abrea, got a telephone call from his wife that their four-year-old daughter had a sudden attack of vomiting and was very ill.  We stopped immediately and took authority over this demonic attack and their baby was healed instantly.

The Holy Spirit moved on me to share a prophetic word from the Lord to the group, “Multiply My Church throughout the nations…one household at a time!”  The entire group of leaders began to shout to the Lord and clap in praise to God for His prophetic mandate for them to the nations.  We began to sing my Chinese brother Noah’s song he taught me while he and I walked and sang at midnight on the dark streets of Shenyang, China, “We Are the Church of the Living God!”  The words were “We are Church. We are the Church of the Living God, of the Living God.  We will rejoice. We will rejoice and be glad in Him and be glad in Him.  We are the Church of Living God.  We will rejoice and be glad in Him.  We are Church.  We are the Church of the Living God!”

These Philippine leaders then began sharing with me that their Island Nation had received another prophetic word from the Lord to raise up and train 200,000 believers to go to the 190 nations where Philippines now live and work to multiply churches there and beyond to every nation of the world!

As everyone began to leave one by one from the gathering, they greeted one another with hugs and embraces of love in the Lord whereas they had greeted one another at the beginning of conference with a formal handshake.  I will always cherish in my heart those moments in the awesome presence of the Lord as I added many more sons and daughters to our family.

I remained at the hotel for the rest of my stay in Manila to be available to individual leaders who wanted to privately share their hearts with me.  So, on Friday and Saturday throughout the day and night from 7:00 AM till 9:00 PM, I met with different leaders and heard their stories and their hearts, answered questions, prayed for them, laid hands upon and claimed the stirring of the gifts of the Spirit in each of them for service in Christ’s Kingdom throughout the nations.

On the last Sunday of my visit in the Philippines, I met for several hours that afternoon with an apostolic team of co-workers who minister throughout the Philippines and other nations including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, Vietnam and throughout the Middle East.  They asked me to pray about co-laboring with them in these and other nations in 2006 and beyond.  I assured them that I would pray and seek the mind of the Lord about doing so.  They are also planning an all-Asian leadership gathering in 2006 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and requested that I come and help facilitate this first time ever meeting of Asian church leaders.

That closing Sunday evening, I met with a celebration gathering of congregations throughout the city.  Eight gifted young people led the gathering in praise and worship.  I ministered to the believers about “What God is Saying and Doing in His Church in These End Times.”  Afterwards we broke bread together and shared fruit juice and sandwiches during a time of fellowship.  The entire congregation of saints gathered around me and prayed for me in the Spirit.  It was a powerful time of the presence and anointing of God.

Afterwards, I prayed for individuals, families, children, babies in their mother’s wombs, widows, young people and church leaders.  Then they all wanted to embrace me and extend to me God’s blessings and bid me farewell until meeting again either in the Philippines or in heaven!

The time we spent in the Philippine Islands can best be summed up by the leaders of the three-day training session who each wrote a personal note to me praising God for what had happened in their lives during our days together in Manila:

“We love you for ministering to us freely what God through His grace and wisdom abounds in you!”

“We praise and thank God for having such a wonderful, loving and generous father like you.  We will never forget you Dan!”

“God will never forget your labor of love among us!”

“Only the Lord knows where this three-day gathering will lead us.  You are His blessing to us.”

“Thank you for your presence for you are a blessing to us and you touched our lives!”

“Thank you for your obedience to come to the Philippines for you are truly a blessing Dan!”

“Thank you for being God’s gift to us!”
”Dan, now I know what it means to be loved by a father!  I will go back home a changed person, willing to impart what I received from this gathering to my family, church and community.  I love you, Dan!”

“Genuine love flows out of you!  You’re indeed a channel of our Heavenly Father’s love…the only thing that can fill up the hole in every person’s soul.”

“Please remember us as your children in the Philippines.  We treasure the time you spent with us!”

“Dan, I love you and I thank the Lord for allowing you to come like a true father from God.  You are a gift from God for the Philippines.  Can you be a father for me?”

“This was my first time to be embraced with a father’s love.  I thank God for your life testimony, your love for the Lord and your fathering example to our families.  Thank you for coming to equip the Body of Christ in the Philippines to “multiply Christ’s Church, one household at a time!”

After packing my suitcase, I spent my last night at the hotel before catching my plane the next morning for my return flight to the United States thanking God for the joy and privilege of being a servant to the Philippine believers and giving the Lord all the glory for what He accomplished through us in Manila!

Sincerely,
Dan Hubbell

Discerning of Spirits

DISCERNING OF SPIRITS

I Corinthians 12:10Greek: discerning-diakrisis = a thorough judging; to distinguish; to separate out as to investigate; looking throughout; examine; question; to find truthspirits-pneuma = spiritsTo distinguish  between true and false revelation by judging the evidence whether the spirits are divine, human or satanic.Distinguish between spirit of truth and the spirit of error.  Discerning attitudes as to whether they are of God, devil or selfSpot hypocrisy, pretense or phony; unmask Satan, detect false teaching and teaching errors.1.      Matthew 7:15-16, 20 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Ye shall know them by their fruits.  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”2.      Matthew 16:3;Luke 12:26 “O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”3.      Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 24; Mark 13:5-6; Luke 21:8 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive(planao=to lead astray) you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive(planao) many.  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive(planao) many.  For there shall arise false Christ’s, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive(planao) the very elect.”4.      Acts 20:29 “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”5.      I Corinthians 2:9-14 “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  The things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  For who hath know the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him?  But we have the mind of Christ.”6.      I Corinthians 11:29 “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.”7.      I Corinthians 12:10 “To another discerning of spirits;”8.      II Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful(dolios=deceitful) workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”9.      Galatians 1:6-9 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert(metastrepho=to turn away)the gospel of Christ.  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”10.  II Thessalonians 2:9-11 “Even that Wicked one whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”11.  I Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing( spirits, and doctrines of demons; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;”12.  II Timothy 3:1, 6-7, 13, 14-16 “Know also that, in the last days perilous times shall come.  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned…and that from a child thou hast known the Holy ScripturesAll Scripture is given by inspiration of God.”13.  II Timothy 3:13 “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”14.  II Timothy 4:2-4 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”15.  Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”16.  Hebrews 5:14 “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”17.  James 1:22 “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”18.  I John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”19.  I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try(dokimazo=to try or prove) the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it would come; and even now already is it in the world.”20.  II John 7, 10 “For many deceivers(planos-one who leads astray) are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.  This is a deciever(planos=one who leads astray) and an antichrist.  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into you house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”21.  Revelation 13:13-14 “And Satan doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast.”
